Internal Weapons Bay Adapters

The F-35 Lightning II (JSF) Weapons Bay Adapters are a family of products that integrate with the aircraft's internal weapons bay and enable carriage of a wide variety of munitions. Currently, ten (10) distinct adapters have been produced to date.

Several variations of the Weapons Bay Adapter Family exist, to support a variety of precision-guided munitions.

Low-in-Bay (LIB) Adapter Designed to interface in the Quick Latch System at Stations 4 or 8 in the F-35A or F-35C Weapons Bay, and hold the BRU-68/A in the proper position to provide adequate clearance between a given Weapon and the structure/subsystems contained within the Weapons Bay.
High-in-Bay (HIB) Adapter Designed to interface in the Quick Latch System at Stations 4 or 8 in the F-35A or F-35C Weapons Bay, and hold the BRU-68/A in the proper position to provide adequate clearance between a given Weapon and the structure/subsystems contained within the Weapons Bay.
SDB I Adapter For internal carriage of the 250 lb. class Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) I
GBU-53/B Adapter For internal carriage of the 250 lb. class GBU-53/B Stormbreaker munition, formerly designated as Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) II
Paveway IV Adapter For carriage of the 500 lb. class Paveway IV munition
GBU-12 Adapter For carriage of the 500 lb. class GBU-12 Paveway II munition
GBU-32 Adapter For carriage of the 1,000 lb. class GBU-32 JDAM munition
JSM Adapter For internal carriage of the Joint Strike Missile (JSM), an airborne derivative of the Naval Strike Missile (NSM)
