SUU-20

The SUU-20/A bomb dispenser and rocket launcher attaches to aircraft with 14 inch and 30 inch lug suspension and is capable of launching four 2.75 inch diameter Folding Fin Aerial Rockets (FFAR) and six practice bombs.

Practice (inert) bombs which may be carried include the 25 lb. BDU-33 (U.S. Air Force designation) which is designed to simulate the Mk 82 and the Mk 84 live bombs in low drag configuration;  this practice bomb is designated Mk-76 by the U.S. Navy. SUU-20 is also rated for the Mk-106, a 5 lb. inert store designed to simulate the Mk 82 live bomb in high drag configuration.

Rocket thrust propels the 2.75″ (70mm) store to slide forward and disengage from launcher. Practice bombs are ejected by a gas-driven piston ram and free fall to the target. Both rockets and bombs can be fired in single mode or ripple mode.

The SUU-5003 is a modification of the SUU-20 which enables the carriage and firing of the longer CRV7  2.75 inch (70mm) folding fin aerial rocket.
