The LAU-151/A External Rail Launcher is a single rail design integrated with the F-35 and used for the carriage and release of either a AIM-9X Sidewinder of AIM-120 AMRAAM missile.
The LAU-151/A External Rail Launcher is integrated with all models of the F-35 Lightning II for external carriage and release of a single AIM-9X or AIM-120 AMRAAM missile. It can be mounted to the aircraft via either an external pylon station or an External Missile Adapter.
Launchers include a Gas Generation System Mass Model (GGSMM) to preserve mass and center of gravity properties to support the launch of the AIM-132 Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) for operators equipped with this munition.
